Old Road Wine Co. 2018 Spotted Hound Red Blend 750ml

This daring, exotic blend consists of Grenache Noir (24%); Mouvedre (65%); and Pinot Noir (11%). The Grenache Noir is from the Agter-Paarl and bush vine cultivated. Hand-picked at optimal ripeness from selected vineyards, also in the Agter-Paarl region, the Mouvedre grapes are specially sourced for their soft, juicy tannins and opulent fruit flavours. Our Pinot Noir comes from cool climate Elgin adding a touch of elegance to the wine.

In the cellar, the individual components spent 8 months in the finest 2nd and 3rd fill oak barrels, whereafter they were blended. The result is a wine that shows a slight saltiness on the nose with hints of soft cardamom spice. The palate is infused with red berries, Turkish delight and dried floral spice on the aftertaste.

A perfect partner for any Italian lamb dishes and meaty artisanal flatbreads.
