Layers of pine, balsamic, kirsch, and menthol emerge from the 2019 Barolo Tortoniano, balanced nicely with the floral perfume of pressed roses. A medium-bodied and well-structured red, it has ripe tannins, a fresh spine of acidity, and lingering notes of leather and fresh soil. It is charming now, but it certainly has the structure to drink well over the next 8-10 years.
