Glen Elgin 12 Year Old Cask 807785 700ml

The Single Malts of Scotland (S.M.O.S.) is an independent bottling company that also part of a group that also produces the Elixir and Black Tot brands. This expression is from the Caol Elgin distillery - produced in 2008 and aged for 12 years in ex-bourbon casks. In 2021, this cask was selected for bottling and It is presented pristinely with no added colour or chill-filtering. It is also at cask strength so a drop of water might be advisable.

Nose: Almonds, orange juice and perhaps a trace of freshly cut lumber.

Palate: Sweet with some acidity, then coastal (seaweed) and sharper, with olive brine and leafy notes.

Finish: Long, drying with a balanced finish.
