Côtes du Rhône
The “entry-level” designation for red, white, and rose wines from the Rhone Valley, producing more than 50% of the region’s output. Most of the vineyard land designated as CDR is the Southern Rhone, tough there are pockets in the north. Reds and roses are mainly Grenache and Syrah, and whites come from a number of varieties such as Grenache Blanc, Clairette and Bourbelenc. These are everyday wines for easy enjoyment that pair with a wide variety of foods.
