Anthony Buchanan 2022 Willam Dean Syrah 750ml

This is my first time working with this fruit from older vines, although we have got beautiful Semillon from this property before. This is a little more fruit-forward than my other vintages, so we went with a 50/50 split for whole cluster and destemmed. There’s just enough of that underbrush, woodsy, green vegetive note that you get from whole cluster, but more blue-black fruits, with lots of plum, blackberry and a white pepper component. It’s drinking nicely now, but I think the drinking window it will start to shine from 2025 and then age nicely for another 5-10 years.
