1 Mill Road 2022 Home Block Pinot Noir 750ml

1 Mill Road is a new, highly pedigreed project on the Naramata Bench, founded by veteran Naramata winemakers Cynthia and David Enns (formerly of Laughing Stock), and now owned by veteran Australia-trained Ben Bryant and partner Katie Truscott. Ben came to the Okanagan in 2018, formerly as head winemaker for Mission Hill. This pinot was sourced from the tiny 1.5 acre home site planted in 2013. It is indeed the essence of the place and the best wine in the portfolio. Stylistically it stays on program with less than 13% alcohol (12.9% stated). The nose is nicely lifted and detailed with integrated red cherry, sage, fine oak spice, coniferous. It is light to medium bodied, frank yet elegant with a seamless, light-handed texture. Excellent interplay of fine fruit and barrels. Effortless, with excellent length. Best now to 2029.
